1 day to go. Tapering going well, even if all major muscle groups (or they should be major) from waist up, faithful to David's prediction, feeling as if they've been through a Victorian sheet mangle, one of those with cast iron frame and tight hardwood rollers, quite squeezy really.
Weather forecast for triathlon course at Excel Centre: overcast with slight risk of showers, possibility of sunny intervals, max 23C. Ahhhhh......
Into the office for early meeting, then a few more. Phone stuck to ear, and/or hand stuck to mouse (rude to look at screen, read emails etc while speaking on phone, sure you never do it) for much of the rest of the day. Shouldn't I be in a hammock or somewhere?
Fortunately have to go home poetically as Angus and Carol are coming to stay. Angus a serious triathlete (what does that make me? A monathlete, a monolith, a mammoth?) secretary of club, the works. Coming to support, laugh etc. Decide I should be carb loading and eat a lot of cardboard. Get indigestion and go to bed early.
